Sponsored by the Friends of Harlem Tennis Center

The Friends of Harlem Tennis Center (FHTC) is a group committed to saving the 8 tennis courts at the 369th Regiment Armory.

The purpose of this web site is not to attract new customers to the HTC, but rather to inform the public of the HTC's rich tradition and the threat to its continued existence.

The About Page talks about the past history & recent programs of the HTC.

The Crisis Page contains a press release, a brief overview of past events in the HTC's struggle to survive, and a discussion of the importance of tennis as a non-traditional sport, offering a means to open up new ways to reach for the stars (for youth, especially), and to offer a sport for a lifetime for both youth and adults.

As the direction for the next stage of action is developed, the Crisis Page will also include a section on What You Can Do to aid in the struggle to preserve the 8 tennis courts at the Harlem Armory.

The FAQ Page (Frequently Asked Questions) has currently been started -- e.g., location; leaseholder; community services.

The Photo Page has photos of recent activities at the HTC and the Slide Show Page has pictures and links to further information about some of the notable persons who played at the HTC in the past.

Thanks for visiting the Friends of Harlem Tennis Center site--this isn't the official HTC site, just highlights and information updated by a FRIEND.

Enjoy your stay!
